Sorry that this is out of sequence, but I wanted to introduce you The Gift.

16 year old Darin Evans inherits the ability to communicate with the dead, but only when in direct physical contact with a part of the dead (hair, blood, teeth, etc.) What follows is a journey between real world events and trying to take hold of his life with this unexpected gift.

This is based on my personal events when my Grandfather died 1 week after I turned 18. Within 2 weeks I had the idea for this story outlined. It took me 40 years to give it life, and when I read the final product, I cried - I had given life to something I wasn't sure would ever be born. While most of what Darin experiences never happened to me (I'm not a physical medium, and had other family members) There is a lot me me in Darin. I remember at the time I wanted this to be confrontational to the Catholic church. I was in the seminary and failed, felt abandoned by them. I'm glad that time mellowed those feelings, and that although I needed an antagonist, for Darin, The underlying message of love is unblemished.

I really do hope you enjoy this story of love, growing up, and fighting to make your dreams come true.

Thank you
