I write in bursts and post as an afterthought. I generated a number of titles on different subjects, Maud being my favorite outside of the Gift.
I am only keeping the Gift series and Falling Up on Amazon for the moment, as there may be other options available soon.
I'm currently working on a parody of the Gift series called the Sniffed. I recently reread one of my favorite authors, Robert Aspirin, and his Myth Adventures series which, never fails to make me laugh.
I was trying to expand the Gift Series with Leo trying to remove the Gift from his daughter, to save her from growing up with the Gift, but it felt forced, and even when done, I didn't like it. It was missing something the rest of the series had. I couldn't put my finger on it, but I decided that if I didn't like it, I wouldn't put it out there - at the end of the day I want to be proud of my creations.
I sat and thought that Darin and Wendy might benefit from a comedic treatment, and remembered how I laughed with the Myth Adventures series, and the idea came... The Sniffed - Have the gift function, but when it does, there is a change in the air...and the Gift bearer hears the heralding trumpet that changes the smell of the room. I decided this was the right move when in the opening chapter, when Leo dies, his last words are "Who cut the cheese" followed by Jackie sniffing the air and asking "Who died? Oh...Oh my, I'm so sorry"
If this irreverent and loving revisit to the Gift is of interest to you, then please stick around, as it will be coming in soon.
